Fast Cream of Broccoli Soup

4 cups chicken broth
1.5 cups water
a chopped onion
two 10 oz packages of frozen chopped broccoli
1/3 cup of oatmeal
1/8 tsp nutmeg
a dash of cayenne pepper
black pepper to taste
1 cup of half and half or milk (optional)

Put everything except the half and half in a pot and bring it to a simmer. Cook for about 15 minutes.

Blend the soup together. ( I use my hand-immersion mixer thingy.)

Add the half and half and warm up. Serve.
