Clean Barbecue Grills Easily with a Lemon

Who wants the hastle of scrubbing, brushing, etc. when cleaning gas bar-b-que grills? Not me! I've found a great, fast way to clean them with little or no hastle. Here's how. Cut a lemon in half; across, not lengthwise. Using the cut side, rub the grill, getting lemon juice flowing but not dripping. Close the top, start fire, and turn up to high. Let heat about ten minutes when temperature has been reached. Open the bar-b-que, wipe down with paper towel, and proceed as usual. IF the grills are very dirty, you may have to redo the process. Try this and see just how easy cleaning can be. Thanks for all the tips, tricks, and recipes you've provided.

Buy Ground Chuck and Chicken in Bulk and Prep a Bit

Like many of us I am a working Mom and I am always on the lookout for easy recipes that I can use. I have learned that if I buy Ground Chuck in the 3 lb chub I can go home and cook it with onion and bell pepper, then freeze it in 1 lb freezer bags. Then I can serve something quick and easy by pulling the cooked meet out and reheating with whatever spices need to be added. My Husband just loves this because I can make spaghetti with meat sauce, nachos, beef and bean burritos, tacos, and calzones. I also do this often with chicken. I will boil and debone chicken in packs and then use the chicken later in recipes. It really does cut down on time and money since I usually buy in bulk when it’s on sale. I hope this helps some other Moms out there!!!! Thank You so much for this web site. This is one of the best websites I have found with recipes that use ingredients that I already have at home. I have sent your website to all of my friends!!! We could all use helpful hints on how to save money with the way gas prices keep going up and the grocery prices are rising as well. Thank You,

Save Butter Wrappers to Grease Pans

Save wrappers from butter/margarine sticks and lay them flat and freeze, then stack in a Ziploc. Take one out and use it to grease a pan before you bake something. There is plenty of residual butter/margarine on the wrapper that gets wasted otherwise!

I make a lot of banana bread, cookies and other dishes calling for mashed bananas. The easiest way I have found to mash them is to insert the bananas in a zip lock bag and mash them with a rolling pin. No dish to clean up. Thank you.

Shop Right After Goods are Marked Down

I was in the grocery store at about 7:00 the other night just to pick up a few things. they were in the process of marking down some really great fresh, artisan bread because they can't sell it the next day. i never knew that they did this. so now i know to wait until the end of the day if i want to get that bread and save $1.50, and i buy two loaves and freeze one. i'm sure that happens on a lot of items, it's just a matter of figuring out when they get marked down.
hope that's helpful!
