Since I haven’t posted a recipe in a while I thought I’d share a few of the other projects I’ve been working on.
Wine Barrel Fountain
Most recently finished was this fountain. A neighbor was getting rid of a hanging chair stand and I thought it would make a great base for a fountain. Learned how to rust chains for this one!
This involved some welding (building a base to hold the barrel), some drilling (bolting the barrel base and adding the bars to hang the plants from), some painting, and some aging chain–a new one for me. You can read more about the project here if you’d like.
When Marlo first offered to teach me how to weld, I jumped at the chance. He asked what I wanted to make. I said “How about a fiddler sculpture,” having no idea what we were getting into. He’d made a welded golfer that I love and since I play fiddle I thought it would be fun to make a fiddler. Over 200 pieces of metal and more welds than I could count, here it is!
It’s been great fun!
