Blog versus CheapCooking.com

I don’t normally ask for comments, but I’m curious about what people are reading. This blog is part of a larger site, CheapCooking. The blog is a more casual journal-like accounting of my own cooking. I started it as a means to keep track of things for my own use. I can see it drives a lot of traffic, but I’m curious as to whether folks who land here at the blog go look at the big web site or not. Or do people who land on the web site, click on the blog link and come read this?

So if you have a spare moment, let me know. How did you get here? And what did you read?

Thanks,

Ellen

I got here from the parent website of this blog. I found the blog through StumbleUpon.

I found this site while searching for food and cooking sites. I check out all the big ones (Epicurious, AllRecipes, Chefs, etc.) just about every day but really like the personal touch that blogs like this provide. If I only have time for one or the other it’s cooking blogs like this all the way for me!

I found this site after a friend sent me your address for cheapcooking.com. I am a cookbook junkie and I’m always looking for new recipes and other people’s suggestions for things to try. I like the casualness of the blog, so I will probably read this more often than the website.

I don’t know how I found your blog, but I really enjoy reading it. It is nice to hear your opinion on a recipe you made or how you changed it, etc. I haven’t checked out the main site before, but I will sometime now that I know about it.

I don’t know how I found your site, but I’m glad I did! I grew up in Livermore. I like this blog as it seems more personable.

I found your blog first by searching “cooking Blogs” and I visit fairly regularly. I was not aware that you had a website. You have some very good information to share…thanks!

I just found your site a few days ago when I was searching for ways to cut our grocery bill. I think my search brought me to your blog first, but I have also gone to your main site.

I’m very excited to start stocking up on stuff like rice and beans to make various soups!

It’s the first time I realized it was part of a website. I found it through My Yahoo when I did a search for recipes and added the RSS feed to my home page.

I generally don’t go to your web site. I read your blog via RSS via Bloglines along with a bunch of others.

Too many blogs/websites and too little time in the day.

    Hi!
I recently got married and decided to add a slew of cooking blogs to my RSS feed to give me cooking tips. I really enjoy your blog, but I didn’t realize you had a website, I’ll check it out.

    Hi
I was referred to your Blog by another site, probably Pim’s great Blogroll on Rojo. What I did was go through her roll and keep the blogs which I enjoyed. To be honest, I have not looked at cheapcooking at all. If you blogged about it I might look at it, but I am really not tempted to go to it too much right now. I tend to go to sites that my bloggers write about, and other surfing that I “need” to do, but other than that I have not come across cheapcooking.com
