Seems a good habit to sum up a favorite new recipe, one for each month of the past year. So working backwards:
December: Fish Tacos and Lime & Cilantro Rice. I’m not a big fish eater but I’m trying to work in more fish and I think I could eat these once a week!
November: A tough one because I made some really good breads, but I’m going to go with the Carrot and Cilantro Salad with Mandarin Oranges from Jamie Oliver. This salad is just so pretty and tasty and goes together quickly once you shred the carrots.
October: I didn’t blog a lot in October evidently. But I do remember this fantastic pot roast and the roast delicata squash I made with it. 90 minute pot roast without a pressure cooker. Yummy!
September: Oh, wow. Looking through I had a lot of great food that month, with an emphasis on some Jacques Pepin recipes. I’m going to go with the simple baked chicken with curry powder, honey and mustard though. This was so easy and flavorful.
August: Fresh tomatoes from the garden, fresh basil from the garden, and a to-die-for Pizza Margherita. Now I’m longing for fresh tomatoes again…
July: Homemade meatballs without a doubt. The parmesan cheese is the key!
June: Perfect summer food: 7 Layer Salad with peas, bacon, and more.
May: Fresh corn salad with red onion, fresh basil and a vinaigrette.
April: Another great homemade pizza. This is fun for smaller parties as you can put out a variety of toppings.
March: oh, I forgot about these! Bierocks (or Runza), a meat stuffed bread. These froze well for a nice quick lunch later.
February: Chicken Biryani Curry. It makes a bit batch so I share with a friend.
January: Candied Orange Peels. We make these every year, usually for Christmas and then often later again as we have a prolific orange tree.
I wish you all a happy new year and hope you have a wonderful 2011. Thanks for sharing 2010 with me!
Ellen
