My youngest asked if I would make pizza margherita this week for dinner. I hesitated because my tomatoes are long gone and my basil is long gone and it tastes so good with fresh basil and tomatoes. But I saw some decent looking plum tomatoes at the grocery store. They seem to be the only tomatoes I can stand to buy. And I saw some fresh basil, surely greenhouse grown and not looking great but smelling good.
So I made it for dinner last night following my recipe here.
Came out really quite good. Not QUITE as good as with homegrown and fresh picked tomatoes and basil, of course, but really a decent winter pizza. And leftover for lunch were good as well.
