Homemade Barbecue Sauce

I’ve been making this barbecue sauce for years, originally torn out of some magazine I can’t remember.  It’s very simple: ketchup, cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and salt.  The original recipe called for liquid smoke but I leave that out since I actually barbecue anything I serve it with so get that natural smoke taste. But add a teaspoon of liquid smoke if you’d like.

This takes all of 2 minutes to put together so I never buy barbecue sauce anymore since I always have the ingredients for this in the pantry.

We typically serve this over our slow grilled ribs.
