This is my absolute favorite way to cook asparagus and it turns out to be the simplest too! How cool is that?!
First a storage tip. A friend of mine that grew up with his family running a large farm taught me to store my asparagus in a jar of water in the refrigerator. They are flowers of course, and this keeps them hydrated and fresh. Of course, if you can cook them the day you pick them even better! But it takes several years to get a patch of asparagus going. I’ve got a small one now but it doesn’t nearly supply our habit.
I give directions here for grilling but the same recipe works great for roasting at a high temperature (500F) in your oven or broiling. Just turn now and then.
