Sloppy Joes

This wasn’t my mother’s sloppy joe mix but it was quite good. The barbecue sauce added a nice tang that my eldest appreciated.

Sloppy Joes with Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 stalk celery, diced
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 10 oz can of condensed tomato soup
  • 2 Tbs or so of barbecue sauce
  • 1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Brown the ground beef of turkey.
  • Add the onion and celery and cook until softened. Drain if there’s much fat.
  •  Add the ketchup, soup, barbecue sauce, and Worcestershire sauce and bring to a simmer. Simmer over low heat 10-15 minutes. If it gets to thick add some more water. Taste and add salt and pepper as desired.
  •  Serve over toasted buns.
