We are die-hard ketchup fans as far as French fries go, but periodically I like to experiment a bit. This mayonnaise, mustard, garlic and vinegar sauce was a hit with everyone here. I usually serve French fries with burgers and this makes a nice spread on your burger as well. Oh, and here are some guidelines for frying French fries.
Sherry vinegar is expensive but it is really really good! It has become one of my splurges. And when I say “expensive” I don’t mean as expensive as eating out, for example. So it’s all relative. If you have a few extra bucks in your grocery budget one week try some. It makes awesome salad dressing as well, if you just follow a basic vinaigrette recipe like this one.
